Employment Situation - December 2011

Highlights are below.
Payroll employment rises 200,000 in December; jobless rate (8.5%) continues to trend down.
Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 200,000 in December, and the unemployment rate, at 8.5 percent, continued to trend down. Job gains occurred in transportation and warehousing, retail trade, manufacturing, health care, and mining.

Most of the new jobs being created are part time low wage jobs theirs also many temporary jobs thats not the way to build a sustainable economic recovery. Employment hours have also never recovered form the recession. Food service jobs now account for ten percent of total employment. Maybe MCdonald's should bring back their old saying you deserve a break today at Mcdonald's but change it instead to you deserve a job today at MCdonald's.
